Hymns have always fascinated me. They create associations, feelings and moods. There is something special about them. They have been around for a long time and still endure.
Hymns are most often sung in church, but they have a cultural and musical expression that opens up and invites me to work with them. I hope to give them new life. Through new harmonizations and rhythms, and performed by my outstanding jazz music colleagues, the hymns can shine again and speak a language that hopefully many people understand and like.
