The album title, «La Dormiente,» is named after the Taburno-Camposauro
massif.
The profile of the peaks, which has accompanied Luca, Giovanni, me, and all
the inhabitants of Sannio, indeed appears like a reclining woman who seems
to be sleeping. This image spontaneously connects to the ancestral myth of
Mother Earth, while simultaneously reminding us of the mountain’s strength,
which comes from calm and peace. A strength that doesn’t need to be
exerted or displayed, as it is inherent in its very presence.
I hope that the music on this record can convey, even in a small part, this
sense of quiet as a result and demonstration of energy and determination,
but also of mystery and fascination for what the night hides in the woods—
sensations that the landscape of La Dormiente has always communicated to
me.
Jan Bang, an extraordinary, unique, and innovative musician, has gifted us
his time and words, which best express what we have tried to communicate
through sounds:

This is music for quiet moments
never strenuous
never even trying to impress the listener.
Instead using silence as a weapon
to conquer whoever is willing to listen.

I want to thank my family, spread across Benevento, Rome, Grosseto, and
Zurich, for their unwavering support, as well as Paola and Lorenzo for their
beautiful photos, and Jan Bang for his words and his time.
And of course, the musicians: Giovanni, for his passion, dedication, and his
sweet and engaging persistence. For his infinite patience. For his ability to
surprise, imagine, draw, and sculpt with sounds and with his heart, and for
his invaluable advice during the arrangement process.
Luca, for the magic, the poetry, for the ferocity and the beauty present in
every single note he plays. For the trust he has always instilled in me, for the
calmness and depth he imparts, without ever losing his lightness.
The album is dedicated to them and to the sentiment of friendship.
